Catfish ID

I got given 6 of these fish by a friend, who has no idea what they are, apart from being catfish! They are about 2 - 2.5 inches long, and shoal, hanging in a group facing the current most of the time. They are kinda the shape and size of glass cats but, obviously, not see through.

Does anyone know what they are? I have checked out planet catfish, but I have no idea of the family, so apart from looking at every photo I'm kinda stuck.

Eutropiellus Buffei

it's a type of glass cat aka Swallow tailed glass catfish. max out at 3" like lots of swimming space and are shoaling fish.

OMG!!!!! i got Buffy catfish!!!! Now I know there's a vampire pleco, there's bound to be loads of fish called 'demons', Angel is easy.....all we need now is a Spike and a Giles.....

Anyone got any suggestions for 'Sunnydale Underwater'???

for demon there's the daemon fish which is a geophagus well now named satanperca jarapari.

The scientific name is nowadays Pareutropius buffei. Here's a couple of links you might find useful, though I guess you might have found the Planet Catfish one already.
