Looking for a type of catfish that will go in a 200g with my current stocking (in sig)

Thanks

a corydoras? lovely fish

Capacity is important, but footprint (dimensions) are also very useful in determining good choices.
Do you want a solitary fish, or shoal of? You could easily get away with, say, a dozen Pimelodus pictus, or even half a dozen Sorubim lima - tank furniture would be important for the latter to ensure they had enough places to hide if needed. Alternatively, how about 6 Ornate Pims (Pimelodus ornatus) Not sure what 'pink convicts' are, and if they are aggressive - I'm guessing you should be OK in a large tank for them not to get too territorial, and equally, if you wanted to go for a large solitary catfish that would not outgrow your tank, say something like Aguarunichthys torosus (bolt catfish), you'd need to be sure there was nothing that would become a snack.
We need more info on what you want from a catfish - large, predatory, or smaller, looks good in a shoal, etc.

Synodontis catfish are well suited to that size tank and generally compatible with the other fish. I'd say the bicher will eat the convicts sooner or later though. S. eupterus grow to around 20cm, do fine as singles, or of you prefer a group 5-6 S. multipunctatus would fit as well. I'd also toss in a group of silver dollars (assuming the tank isn't planted) for dithers.

200 gallons? Get a school of like 30 cory's just for giggles.

I'm just gonna say it cause I have to, striped raphael catfish are awesome. They're nocturnal and hardly come out much, but they're my favorites. Could probably get away with like 4 or 5, depending on the foot print.

Dude! Tiger Shovelnose Catfish. Will eventually swallow the Pink Convicts, but you could transfer him to your 900 gal "River Monsters" tank before then.

Callophysus macropterus - if your in the uk oddball express has some, i have one thats one from about 4inch to about 15 in about 7months.

you need to tell us what kind of tank your looking at achieving. In my 150g tank when I had tetras and discus I had 9 cory sterbai in there and theyt looked ace and I had plans to double the numbers
now I have oddball fish and I have a 12 inch baby giraffe cat in there and as a specimen fish hes amazing bags of personality,
One day I hope to have a large tank with a shoal of pim pictus in there but again what are you trying to achieve

Well its sort of a mix up but so far Ive only got 1 Common plec, 1 Senegal, 2 Pink cons, Im looking for a large catfish that not too large to swallow cichlids but will work well with them , I like the look of upside down catfish and the Raphael.

Its 6 1/2 ft long

I wanted to get an oscar but not too sure,
My perfect catfish would be one that large and an oddball, Not too large to swallow or kill cichlids (Larger ones).
Preferably a catfish that I can see in the day unlike my Pleco.
Im looking for a solitary catfish.

Am I asking for an imaginary fish?

majority of catfish are going to be pretty nocturnal, unfortunately. Raphaels in general like to be kept in groups, but they do just as well alone. They're very peaceful, but have a strong outer shell which makes them almost bullet proof, so aggressive fish will be ignored by them.

They also are said to be a bit more active in larger tanks, but I'm not sure how large they speak of.

Upside down catfish stay on the smaller side, and they school, but they're nocturnal as well.

There's a large species of raphael catfish called Megalodoras or giant raphael catfish, but I don't know whether or not your tank is big enough. I don't know much about them. I think they get around 2 feet long or so.
