i'm getting a cat/kitten soon but i have 2 tanks of fish. the lids on them can be very easily lifted so does anyone have any idea how i can cat-proof the tank?? the tank didn't come with any lids... Please help...

Nice heavy books on top of the tanks.

The danger here is not your kitten hurting your fish, but of the kitten drowning in the tank.

Hi,
I used to have a device on the oven door that can be found in the child safety section of any decent store (Walmart, Lowes, Toys R Us etc...)
It uses 2 plastic pcs that click together and form a lock and each one has a really good adhesive tape on it so you put one pc on the lid and one on the tank and then you can click them shut.
Just my 2 cents. It seems worth $3 to save the kitty or the fish.

My cat didnt show any interest in my tanks until I got kulhi loaches. One or two shots with a squirt gun has gotten the point across though. He still looks at me like "momma... I WANT to catch that wiggly thing!!!" I think he's change his mind the minute he got dunked though!!!

They also make a device for keeping toilet lids kid proof that might work. :/

good luck :D
