Hi guys I will be getting 2 new rays this coming weekend, a castexi(P34) and a retic. The castexi is a 7 inch female(will get much larger!) and the retic is a 5 inch male. I am going to have to drive for an hour and a half to pick them up but it will be worth it. Has anybody ever kept these rays before? Thanks

kept retic

some say they are harder to take care of than other rays but i have never had a problem

before you pick the rays up get the seller to send you a small video clip of them feeding DONT buy the rays unless you see them feeding

one of the main problems people have with new rays is getting them feeding

it is also best if the rays are feeding on dead food like prawn mussel or cockle not earth worms/ night crawlers

1.5hrs is i short trip to drive the rays

The seller has sent me tons of pictures of the rays eating and swimming, so I'm not concerned about that. When I go to his house I will watch them eat right in front of me. He has had both of them in his tank together for a little over a year now. These aren't my first rays either, so I know all about general care I've just never had either of these species. I will only have the rays in the car driving home for an hour and a half so they will be fine, they will be double bagged and in styrofoam boxes with covers to reduce the stress. Do you know at which size/age the rays will be sexually mature and how can I tell how old the rays are(I know that they are at least a year old)? Thanks

sounds cool
lets see the pics of the rays then and some pics of the ray set up you allready have :good:
ive never kept those ray sp but you can tell a mature male by his big open claspers
