My cheap submersible walmart filter craped out on me tonight it quit sucking up debris. My LFS were closed so I went to Meijer and got a Cascade 300. The only question I have is it had this piece called a biofalls which set were the water comes out and it runs down it. Well I put it on and it slowed the water flow coming out quit a bit. So I took it off and the water flow is a great deal faster. So right now I have it off. Will this be a problem is there any advantages of leaving it on it says it will keep nitrites and nitrate levels down but heck so will a cycled tank and water changes. So should I just leave it off cause I'd rather have a faster water flow.

Thanks

You already know better don't you Erk. The tank does not cycle, the filter does. The waterfall style thing may well be the biofilter part of that filter, it is one I am not familiar with. At the very least, please put as much of the old filter media into the filter flow path and keep a close eye on your water chemistry for a week or more.
