how many can i put in a well planted 10 gallon? do you think 10 will fit? i just got these juvies and they are like the best thing that ive ever gotten. they are sooo cool, they even school with bigger neons. i want to make a small tank for a tank of cardinals.

I would have said 6-8 in a 10g is a safe number. This will give them sufficient space to grow as well as getting them to school.

i only have one cardinal but he/she hangs around with the four neons and they all hang around with the four cherry barbs too its soooooo cute seeing them all together like one big happy family

i think im going to set up a 10 gallon just for cardinals to put in the living room. its 10 for 9 dollars, or 1 dollar each. i guess i can keep 10 until they grow to be 1 inch. they are still tiny, like .5 inch

I'm not much for community fish but I've heard the ration of "one inch of fish per gallon" ever since I first started learning about fish (in the early 80s). The saying is still around so I guess it has to have some validity...
