I know that Angelfish like to eat Cardinal Tetras, but can a full grown Angelfish eat a full grown Cardinal Tetra? Cardinals can get to about 2", which seems a little too big for the Angels to eat. I have two 3" Angelfish right now.

Thanks.

I wouldn't as if they eat neon tetra's i bet they would eat a cardinal to.

Yes cardinals and neons are pretty much the same size (And IMO basically the same fish  ) I doubt the angels could tell the difference between them anyway :)

Cardinals grow a bit larger than neons and IMO are a much nicer fish. however Angelfish can distend the mouths a bit, it is posible for a large angel to eat them.

That doesnt mean they will.

I have noticed a few Cardinals missing, I'm going to have to take the rest out before they dissapear to.

My LFS has cardinals and Angelfish together in one of his display tanks. Always thought it was a bit strange.

Just out of curiosity, how big were the Angels and Cardinals?

My dad has kept angels that were about 8" tall with neons without any problems, untill one day, when a pair of angels were about to spawn, there was no neons.

my neons have been in hiding since my pair started spawning. They will have to be moved. Too bad because they look so pretty in this tank (heavily planted).

The Columbus Zoo (Ohio, US) has a large aquarium containing dozens of fully grown neon tetras in with a pair of angel fish and their spawn. Beautiful display in their aquarium.

What i hear is that when you keep angels with neons from the time the angel is small, when the angel gets to max size it will not associate the neon with food.

Not sure on it though :/

P.T.
