Today while feeding my tetras their flake food and a few dried tubifex i dropped an algae wafer into the tank for my shrimps and ottos to nibble.

Now the tetras ate all the flakes and tubifex in about 1 min then a few of them noticed the algae waffer on the bottom of the tank and now they are eating that to.
2 of my red fin tetras are also facing off with the shrips over it.

Is this normal?
Is this caused by underfeeding?

And most inportantly will it harm them?

Is this normal? Probably. I put Hikari Sinking Wafers in for my kuhlies and my platies and neons eat it.
Is this caused by underfeeding? I doubt it. I probably overfeed. The platies and neons eat more of the sinking wafers than the flake food, the kuhlies seem to like the flake food a lot more.

And most inportantly will it harm them?
I don't see how it could harm them.
