Cardinal Tetra Temp?

What temp do you usually keep your cardinal tetras at? I've been reading about huge variations in temperature settings.
I know that they're hardier than the neon tetras, but I'm still too much of a perfectionist to believe that.

When i had them I kept them at 26-27c

I have my temp at 79 degrees F and my Cardinals are thriving

They can be OK from about 75F to 86F (about 24- 30C. I believe they do better and will look better nearer the high end temps to the lower end temps.
