Cant Get My Gibiceps To Feed

I cant get my Gibiceps to get to the algae wafers before the other fish get to it. I've tried placing it when they are set in a particular place but wont go for it.

Any ideas?

try cucumber bloodworm and prawns too my gibbicep used to love all 3

How much cucumber? They are about 3 inches long each (2 of them)

i usually put in a chunk roughly 3 inches long and in the evening and remove any uneaten the following evening

There's no way 2 Gibiceps would eat that much, would they? Do you slice it or leave it whole and the skin on it?

What way will this affect nitrites/ammonia/PH?

youd be surprised the dent 1 gibbi let alone 2 will put in that size chunk of cucumber overnight. water will be fine as long as you remove any uneaten within 24 hours . you will need to weight the cucumber down with something as it is bouyant i use aquarium lead like they bunch plants with in most lfs failing that ive seen people stick a fork in it. i just cut off a chunk take a strip of peel off it ( altho its usually eaten from the end ) weight it and put it in just before lights out
