Hi, I'm looking to make a new center piece for my home but cant find what i want.

The main thing I'm finding hard to source is an all glass tank with no messy support straps around the top.
The tank will be open top and amano in its style.

Any help in finding a way of getting that minimalist style tank would be great.

Heres how id like it to look!!

Cheers Graeme

How big of a tank are you considering? I would think that most tanks (except the smaller ones like maybe <30 gallons) would need the top support brace.

Dont know in gallons, but the dimensions would be 90cm x 60cm x 60cm.

I went to my local fish shop today and asked about getting the type of tank i want, he says it is possible but the glass will need to be at least 13mm thick to hold the pressure in the joints.
Juwel tanks (well the smaller ones) look good but id have to get rid of the hood and the internal filter I'm not after the cluttered look.

Graeme.

It's approx 86 US Gallons (just over 300L). But if you look at most of the tanks in the AGA Showcase of that size catagory (Amano Style tanks - his website), you'll see that all of them (where you can see the full tank) has a top brace. You're probably unlikely to get away from that.

Yer i can see what you mean, but can you see what im trying to achive?

Theres a limeted amount of ADA in this country(UK) and i dont think the tanks are obtainable

Graeme.

Sounds like you're willing to order the tank or get a custom-mande one. Maybe you can ask for clear plastic/acrylic bracing for the top. Personally, I don't see what's wrong with having a simple black bracing on top.
