Hi, as some of you may know I got some bamboo shrimp 2 days ago. One of the shrimp stays in his little area and does not move. However, the last time I saw the other shrimp was yesterday morning and It was frantically running around. It's just not there anymore. The sides of my tank cave in, so i don't think he crawled out.
Wondering if it's just molting? How long will they take to find a place to mold and then do it?

Unless you find a fleshy body, I wouldn't worry. I "lose" my Amanos all the time, just to have them reappear a week or two later. I had one go missing for a month and was sure a fish must have gotten him, though my fish don't touch my shrimps. A month later, I'm looking at some plants I wanted to move around, and guess who's just hanging out in the leaves? Lil' Dude! Good luck and I hope he reappears for you.

In the beginning, my bamboos hid, they also molted ( due to water chemistry change when you brought them in) and took like a month for them to be fully comfortable
But yeah, same with amanos, I added them a year back and I thought no survived, and now I have amanos always carrying and large than my sterbai

Rookie numbers - my shrimp go missing for a week sometimes. All good, probably just molting or getting his beauty rest
Thanks for the advice. I remember them dissapearing for some time a few years ago when I kept them, but i forgot.
funny how one is very obedient and the other does it's own thing.

I usually see mine when doing water changes, they hide most of the time.
