I'm thinking of getting a 75g community tank where i plan to keep 2 tinfoil barbs, 2 id sharks, 3 bala sharks and an oscar. The first LFS i went to (a small indie shop) tried to sell me an eheim 2215 classic filter for $219.99. I decided to wait a while and see other shops. At the other store i visited, the clerk suggested that I get two fluval 304 filters (total cost 219.98) as a fail safe. He also said that I would get "amazing filteration" because each fluval can handle a 70g tank.

I really dont know which to choose. I've heard rave reviews about the eheim, but two fluvals .

another thing. What plants would you recommend for this tank? I'm not really interested in the botanical aspect of the aquarium so I dont know what to get.

I would get the 2 Fluvals...even though I have ehiem and reccomend them..The 2 Fluvals will give you an over all better filtration system for your tank! since you can place one on one side of the tank and the other on the other side of the tank...so you have filtration on both sides!

Thats what I would get.... :)
