I can't believe I have Ick in my cycled, 20 gallon breding tank.  I bought some fish via Aquabid, like I have many times in the past with no problems.  Recently, I purchased a Trio of long fin, Albino plecos.  They are beautiful looking fish.

I should have seen the signs that this whole transaction was not meant to be...

The guy didn't ship my pleco's out for a whole week and 1/2 and all of his emails were extremely confusing.  When they arrived, I was so pissed at the way he packed them.  It looked like he just put some water in a bag, through the plecos in and tied the bag in a knot with no O2  Seriously?? who does that?

You could tell all three were totally stressed, so I acclamated them very slowly and carefully.  I guess it was too late... in less than 24 hours, they all had ick!  Now, i'm in a rescue mission to save my last surviving male.  I'm desperate to save him since it looks like he would grow into being a super awesome pleco.  Pretty mad about the two females that died.

On top of the stress from being shippind, I'm pretty sure it was this male that brought on the ick... during my nightly peeping.  Yes, my husband says I'm a fish peeper.  I like to sit in front of my tanks with my magnifying glass and observe my fish.  LOL  Yes, I know I have a problem.  I normally just do that with the new fish I add to the tank.

Anyways, I did notice the male had a broken fin... ironic thing is.. he is the one that survived, so I know he would be a strong male to breed.

Anyways... so sorry for the long post..

Treatment: I raised the heat up to 80 and did half tablest of ick guard.  1/2 tablet in the morning and 1/2 tablet before bed. In between treatments, I've been doing 25% water changes. This morning, I don't see any ick on my male and he is eating and gliding across the tank walls.

Only down side to the Ick guard... it turned the tank sealant a light blue.

Hello there. Raise the temp to 86f and add sea salt or aquarium salt. I usually find the only thing the treatments do is colour the sealant. Never had a treatment work, and the salt and temp method has always worked for me. Good luck, hope he's ok
