As title, what would you choose and why. Rearched into them a bit and they both seem to have the same specs?

Which one is the newest model? The 1000D??

Thanks, oh and if anyone has any of the above and would like to review it that would be great.

Thanks on advance, Adam

well from what I can gather from the Canon website, the 450D has 2 more megapixels (negliable difference) shoots frames half a second faster, and has 9 instead of 7 focus points and a 3inch screen (same resolution as the 1000D though)
Looking at the reccomended retail prices on the Canon website, would I pay £210 extra for those features? Nope
Wiki has just told me the 1000D does not spot meter, either

The 1000D is the newer camera.

yeah, yer welcome

Haha sorry mate - in the shops now theres not much between the 450 and 1000 in terms of price. Only like £100 so ill prob go for the 450D

Cheers guys. :good:

good choice, I probably would aswell, just for the option of spot metering.

You didnt make your choice on megapixels alone did you? To put megapixels in perspective, Nikon's entry level camera, the D60 has 10 megapixels, and costs about £300 body only. Their top of the range camera has 12 megapixels and costs about £2500 body only.

The difference between 6 and 8, 10 and 12 is negligible to say the very least!

oh and enjoy your new camera :good:
