If you mean cannister filters then IMO they are worth it. Unclutters your tank, easier maintainence, option of adding a external heater etc.

Fluval is a brand - however i would steer clear of them but thats just my opinion. I can highly reccomend the Eheim Classic range.

Prone to leaks, break downs, poor build quality........... although thats just my experience with them. I'm sure theres plenty of people who are perfectly happy with theirs.

well I just bought a eheim classic....before doing so I browse through the net and reviews say the same thing abt fluvals...U were rite. Eheim canisters are better..thanks for ur input

I would recommend the Eheim Pro range. Just as good (if not better) as the classic range but has the added advantage of even easier cleaning!

The Pro range are said to be even better than the Classic or Ecco ranges - but are more pricey.

Thats a good price, i paid £45 for mine. I havn't heard much about Rena's but from reviews i've read they sound like a decent filter.
