Hi.

I'm planning on getting a 55 gallon freshwater tank and would like to try out a canister filter. I'm interested in the canister filters with built in UV sterilization. The tank will be positioned in a room with lots of indirect light and I am currently dealing with green water in another tank and want to be prepared in case something happens to cause an algae bloom. Any thoughts or experience with the JBJ ERU-25 filter (link below)? Is there another way to do this that would be better than this 4-stage filter?

Thank you

OOPS, SORRY ABOUT THAT LAST ONE.

Just wanted to bump this and see if anyone had any thoughts on these canister filters with UV sterilizers built in.

Thanks.

P.S. Really don't want to read my own replies

I have quite a few canister filters but have never decided to spring for the extra cash a UV would cost me. Sorry that I can't help with those.

Its better to get a stand alone UV rather than a canister with UV built in. The stand alone UV gives you a lot more control over the function of the UV.
