Hi, does anyone know what might be wrong with this Candy Cane? Is it fin rot. All the water parameters are good. Thanks!

Dang that doesn't look too good. Can you list exact parameters? Whats it housed with?
Thanks for the reply! PH is 7.0, Ammonia 0 ppm, Nitrite 0 ppm, Nitrate 0 ppm It has been living in a 125 gallon tank with approximately 40 other fish: zebra danios, other candy canes, cherry barbs, harlequin rasboras, blood fins. I just transferred it to a 10 gallon quarantine tank I keep up and running at all time.

It's been in the 125 for 1 1/2-2 years

That fish is in dire shape, and fin rot isn't the issue. The body is also misshapen. If it's the only fish afflicted, I would get it out fast, and, frankly, I'd euthanize it. Then I would watch my water quality and be on the lookout for Columnaris/Flavobacter infections. You don't want that to spread, if it is the culprit.

The parameters don't matter much - far more important is the water changing routine. It's an opportunistic bacterium, and it doesn't always spread through a tank. It can though, often. If that fish dies in the tank, the tank would be doomed. As is, it will be around at least a month, and hopefully the other fish can fight it off. I'm in a no antibiotics without a vet zone, so I can't help on potential treatment.

This is my miracle baby! They guy was looking real bad with fin rot a month ago. I put him in a quarantine tank and dosed him with Fritz Maracyn Two. He is still in the quarantine tank but looking pretty darn good ( :

It really is wonder Ken. Great job you kept it alive. "Looking pretty darn good" mwaaaaa but applause for the effort and the result. I would have euthanised it.
