Can you keep clown botias in a 38 G?

Topic pretty much says it all. Not sure if the bottom area would be big enough for them or not. If so, how many could I keep in there?
 
I think you should be cool gettin a couple of clowns They grow 2 6" in length.
They appreciate a nice current in the tank as they originate from Indonesian streams and like to have a place to hide and sleep in.
If your using the old "1inch of fish per gallon of tank rule" you can predict that you could house 6 fully grown clowns in a 38 gal tank. This gives you space for another 2inch fish!

Not IMO, I am worried about having 3 in a 84US (5ftx1.5x1.5). They can get bigger than 6", 8" is not out of te ordinary and they can get to 12".

I wouldn't do it but they are slow growers so perhaps if you have plans to upgrade.
