i have had my fluval tank for nearlly 2 years now, and recently the bulb thats in it, AQUA GLOW, has been flickering, today when i came home from school it was off, i tried messing with the starter switch and all that was happening was that, the starter thingy had a faint purple color inside it, has the bulb gone, or is it the starter switch?

on the inside of the bulb its like theres soot inside, do you think its the bulb?

thanks :)

plz help me out, going to get a new bulb any time now.

The purple glow is the starter doing its thing, you have to go get a new tube. It's maybe a good idea to get an extra one as well, as things usually break on saturday night.
Oh and you should replace your tube once a year.

Or your starter is on it's way out, too. Might as well replace that while you're at it. Check all the contact points and pins for corrosion or burnt ends. Oh you better wear some sunglasses with the new bulbs  .
