I know most of the people on here live in Europe, but a few of us live in the US can we have a buy swap section for those of us we are not in Europe

An easier option would be for everyone to bother putting location in the post.
true this would be easier but people dont....full stop, im for a section for the states being added, maybe someone should start a poll on the issue, :good: and eventually someone will here us.

I am in support of this! I hardly ever go down to the b&s because I have a hard time trying to find the american ads!

Definately a more viable option. I would say to use town/city followed by country (I'm rubbish at geography, so this would help me a lot!!!)

As previously mentioned mind - people dont! Probably the easiest way to impliment this would be to be a little harsh for a while with the moderation i.e. delete posts that do not contain this information. I believe that it is clearly stated in the board rules (I may be wrong), so this would be a fair tactic, and would rather promptly put everyone into place! :good:
(As long as mods tell the poster why their post has been deleted!)

I actually agree it would be much better to split the sections. Most other (the majority of them much smaller with less traffic) boards do.
And this board is of such high volume that it would really be beneficial to split it.

Because lets face it: people are NEVER going to suddenly start paying attention to the pinned notes and start putting the correct location in the topic title.
Splitting sections work.

So perhaps there should be a UK section and then a US & rest of world (incl. Canada, Oz etc. - because there's a lot less of the last mentioned)

I'd like to add my support to this as well. To me it's not so much about putting your location in the subject title as it's the sheer number of UK ads. I recently posted one, and less than 24 hours later it was down to the second page. I think those of us in the US would have a better chance of selling/swapping things if we aren't being lost in the crowd. :good:

Whats to say that people will actually remember to post in the correct forum? Never underestimate stupidity...

lol yeah!!

i agree though, i'd say should be a UK one, a US one and a rest of the world one.

Never underestimate stupidity...
because the difference between stupidity and intelligence is......
stupidity knows no bounds

for the record, if people actually read the rules in the buy/sell
forum they would put their location in the post.
I'm against the split

If the poster bothers to put thier location in thier profile, then that would make things easier, maybe admin could force location upon registering.

say he whos location is listed as
Location No Information :good:

Well am i actually selling something at the moment in that section

I was refering to people who plan on selling something.

That wouldn't make anything easier, we'd still have to go into the post to check. They need to put it in the topic title.
