I have noticed when I do water changes or a short time there after we have had a couple of births of fry. Is this posible or just a mere coinsidence?

in most cases it does, for cichlids you need to add cooler water and they will spawn. i guess if they feel happy about the clean water then yes it will help.

It odes depend. I ahve a apir of jewel cichlids, and it says that you need to do a water change and add water 10degree's cooler than the tank temp to make them think it rained alot and they need to breed. i have been waiting for results.

In a lot of places with wild fish its the spring/summer rains that tell the fish they have X amount of weeks to spawn, grow th fry and the fry become able to support themselves. ITs a common trait with fish keepers to use cool water changes to induce spawning.
