Can Someone Tell Me What Type Of Fish This Is?

Hi! I bought a new little guy yesterday that the fishstore didn't know what he was. They only had one and they said he must have slipped in by mistake. Sold him to us for 1.45 though! I think he's a type of tetra but am not sure. He has neon green eyes and is shiny green with a little bit of light blue on the back stripe of his tail. His eyes are bright green and his fins are tipped in black. The green on his eyes and stripe glow like the neon tetras and glowlights do. He also has 2 top fins and the fist one is mostly black. None of my other tetras have that 2nd top fin though. What is he? I couldn't find anything like him in a google search. Here are a few pics:

That fish is not a tetra. Its a Celebes Rainbowfish/Telmatherina ladigesi
I've had a school of these and they are my favorite fish of all time, just bear in mind that these do a little bit better in a neutral pH and with some salt added into the tank (both thing are not necessary)

I too have the Celebes, they're great little fish but do much better when kept in groups of 6 or more

they look lovely! am half tempted to hunt some down for my tank, but im guessing my Barbs might be a bit mean to them?

Also, i like how they just pulled a price out of the air for a fish they didn't know!

Cute little fish!

Have you noticed that he has some tail fin damage? You might want to treat that in case it gets any worse. Maybe he's been fin nipped by something at the LFS or it might be a bit of fin rot.

I quite fancy having some of those myself now!

plenty of fresh water will sort that out dont go chucking meds in a tank without it being 100% needed.

Definatly Celebes Rainbowfish, extremely cute fish. I was looking at some myself but everywhere i looked said they were brackish water fish

Anyway i hope you have fun with this little guy!
