hi all, new member here...

started a tank with 2 orandas, a couple of algea eaters, shrimps and neons.

after a couple of days the shrimps were all gone. then the neons started to disappear. are the orandas eating everything?

Neons are tropical and goldfish are coldwater. You should not keep them together as neons require a significant;y higer temperature than goldfish who whould be kept at around 18 degrees C Neons should be at around 25 degrees.

It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if the goldfish were the culprits.

Also, you mention algae eaters. I hope you don't mean Plecs, siamese alage eaters or chinese algae eaters, as none of these are remotely suitable for a coldwater tank either as they are all tropical as well.

I can't help but ask what size tank all these are in? You've got a pretty incompatible set of fish going on here.

Goldifsh will eat smaller fish that why its not wise to keep them with tropical fish.

When I kept gold fish I used a heater to keep the temp stable.

How many gallons or litres is the tank.
What are your water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.
