Can Plants Be Another Supplement

hey, i have a bristlenose catfish and he never used to eat my plants (maybe because they were really tough) like anubias, amazon swords etc...Now that i bought another plant (a chain sword), he seems to be munching on the leaves everyday to the point that all the leaves have little holes on them, in some cases the stem is chewed off...I feed my bn wafers, cucumber but can the chain sword or any other delicate plant be of another supplement to its diet??? If it can, once the plant is truly eaten, il just keep buying that plant as a complementary food source, just incase it gets hungry or i run out of wafers n veggies for the for a while (just like an emergency stack of food)...
