Hello, I'm new to this platform and I have a question that maybe someone can answer. I live on the 2nd FL of a NYC Brownstone and I would love to get a 100g fish tank, I'm just wondering if the floor can support it, can anyone help me come to a conclusion?

Welcome! :hi:

Usually second story floors can’t support 800+ pounds of water. (It’s going to be more than that, because of the subsrate, decor, and other equipment)

If it’s an apartment building, you could maybe ask your landlord or get in touch with the builders, and see if it could.

100 US gallons is 378L i.e. 378Kg of water. Add the tanks, stand etc and say 400Kg. That's 881 pounds (US) - about the weight of 8 people. Does that help? I'm not familiar with Brownstone construction but I guess the floors are wood planks over wooden joists, like an older property in the UK.
