can i use crushed coral in my 10 gallon tank i have xtra from my marine tank and i don't really like the look of gravel

depends what your keeping it will raise the ph of the water!

Yes, if you use crushed coral, you shouldent keep tetras, angelfish and loads more .
Live bearers like guppies would be ok though.

the coral will react with the water to raise the PH and hardness. african chiclids would love this though....

if not just try using sand, such as play sand silicone sand or many of the other varietys

depending on the type it may not raise the ph all that much i had a coral sand once that did nothing! but they generally do raise the ph to high for most common community fish
