No there T8
I was goin to have that bulb and a arcadia tropical, which says its good for plants,
i want to sure about the marine one as its 10000k, will it be too bright for the tropical fish and the plants?

Should be fine, if in worry just get a different one

I use Arcadia Marine T5's over my Discus ATM, no issues what to ever. Compared to "normal" aquarium lights though, they are rather blue looking, but you won't notice unless you have a side-by-side comparison...

I seen the Arcadia Marine they do blue and white,

do you think using the Arcadia tropical aswell will be ok for the plants or just use 2 Arcadia Marine white bulbs at 10000k each?

I'd probably use the tropical lamps if I could get them locally, but nobody, including work, stocks them in the 54W T5 version

Hi

I found homebase bulbs for £3 and they are good

you can go here

if you going to shop for bulbs you have to know what you looking for.

now to understand what light they give:

on one side of lbulb most probaby by the brand name there are numbers and last three digits

it might look like that:
PHILIPS
44JKHJ6773KJ-640

the last three digits 640 indicates that this bulb gives 6400K (different bulbs have different markings on them but last three digits are always indication of spectrum)whit is nearly daylight and its suitable for freshwater aquarium

in freshwater you can use bulbs of 5000k - 10000k depends what effect you wish to get.

not sure about marines but think its more of a cold light in there 10000K - 18000KK?
