Can I use Algicide?

Can I use algicide, or will it kill the biological filter? The tank only has two cichlids with a HOB biowheel. No Plants, No inverts.

Should be ok, just check the bottle before you buy it. It will normally kill plants, it shouldn't harm your bacteria

I wouldnt advise using a algicide in a tank containing fish, algicides are strong chemicals and cause extreem stress to the fish. I once made the mistake of using a algicide to try and rid my tank of some frustrating black hair algea and ended up killing half my fish.
