hey everyone,
i want to make a few caves for my new tank and i was thinking of using a hot glue gun
will this be o.k or should i use superglue.

thanx in advance

no to the glue gun and no to the super glue
the only safe "glue" is aquarium selant

I'm sure someone could buy it for you and post to you.
if you have a paypal account I'll gladly do it.

thats the main prob.
you can't have a paypal account in the middle-east

thanks anyway

Just wondering, are you still having issues? If so, check your local hardware store and ask for 100% silicone sealant.

Out of curiosity, why is a glue gun unacceptable to use? All it is is melted plastic and people put plastic in their tanks all the time. Also, I have seen glue gun type glue used commercially in making aquarium ornaments with no adverse reactions. I have an ornament in my tank right now that has some traces of glue from a hot glue gun on it.

Is there a reason it shouldn't be used?

I'm with Falcon on this one.

Looking at some of the more 'tasteless' oraments we have, there are quite visual blobs of glue holding it together.
They could concievably be silicon sealant, but if I was a company out to make money and not really caring about the state of the fish, then anything thats not labelled as toxic would do.

I can see the concern; anything could leach from the adhesive or the materials that melt in the joining purpose, but I would hazard that anything labeled as non-toxic would be ok.

Perhaps a soak before use would be advisable though.

Middle east and you choose a name like terrorist? Thats nice. Well terrorist or not good luck with your fish tank, even terrorists can enjoy fish tanks.

Can You Use Western Union Money Transfer. If So Then We can Help Send some Silicone.
