can i put a divider in my aqaurium

i got a 6 foot long aquarium if i put a divider in the middle can i keep cichlids in one half and a comunity tank in the other half? i like my cichlids but i want a little more variety. I got 6 cichlids in there right now and its 200G

It may work... providing the divider is strong enough to keep the cichlids from breaking through it and getting to the other side. You would also have to make sure the divider is high enough to prevent jumpers. Hopefully some other members will come along and voice their opinions

trying it out today i put the divider i found at the lfs and bought 6 tiger barbs gonna see what happens in the next couple of weeks i have seen i fish trying to ram into the divider but nothing happend any more feedback is definetly welcome ill try to post some pic soon i hope it works
