hey there all this is my first post..

want to get some info please...

i have a 50L tank normal tropical fish started tank..

i have a 100 Watt heat and a canister filter that filters at 900L/H
i will get the best strongest light i can get to fit to the hood.

will all this be suffiecient ?

can i go and buy salt mix and live rock this weekend chuck it in and start with the cycle ? and live sand...

As long as you have given it all a good scrub I dont see why not. You will also need a hydrometer to check your salt mix and something to check the temp. Canister filter is best run with rock rubble and filter floss that can be thrown away rather than sponges and cermaic/bio balls which can be nitrate traps.
What are you intending to keep in there?

no not by this weekend, maybe in a month or two, research is the key to success.

Don't waste your money on "live sand". It's a marketing gimmick ;). Buy a little LR or even some bits of rubble if you truly want a live sand bed and allow the rock to seed the sand. Those bags of "live" sand have been sitting on warehouse shelves in Heaven knows what temperatures for long periods of time with no oxygen... Still believe there's anything alive in there? ;)

Agreed. Could possibly help with the cycling from all the dead things in it...

 I'll just save some cash and dump some straight ammonia in there with plain aragonite sand, same difference
