Can i keep an upside down syno with a royal pleco?

I have a 260l tank with a few different tropical fish and a royal pleco in it. Im wanting to put an upside down syno in there as well but wondering if it will get on with the royal pleco. Any help is much appreciated thanks

Things get bumped down by other threads and get missed sometimes! I personally have no idea, is the upside down syno also called a featherfin? Wondering about tank size there and if you'd need to upgrade.

@Wills knows some things about synos, I'm not sure who else might know the answer to this I'm afraid! Perhaps @DoubleDutch can help.

Ive always known it as an upside down catfish but I saw one in the fish shop and thats what it was called so was just trying to give it its proper name. Apparently they only grow to around 4inch but the royal pleco will go up to 16inch or so. The tank is 1.8m long by 32cm deep by 40cm high

My first thoughts are the difference in habititats and requirements of both fish.
Mixing South American and African fish often isn't the best option. But that said the tank could be more come close to the requirements for the upside down catfish than for the plec !

This is more a pleco tank to me.

I once had a Synodontis nigriventris in my 40 with a bn pleco. He was quite adorable and well behaved; but one day he was eating a pellet (there were 3 or 4 pellets); and instead of taking one of the pellets no one was eating; the bn pleco decided she had ot have the one the upside down cat was eating; well that cat beat the **** out of her and she never tried that again....

So sure go for one; they are really peaceful fish but won't take crap from the pleco...

This is more a pleco tank to me.
Forgive my ignorance as I am a newbie, as much as that is agood looking setup but it doesnt look like there would be much room for a plec to move around as it seems quite shallow apart from the end

Bit of an update, I work away in the week and my partner told me that sadly the plec died. We were treating an outbreak of white spot and although the treatment doesnt say it contained copper, when ive searches the product online someone has said it does in fact have it in but is OK to give it to them but only half the dose over a longer period. It seems poor lil bugger got overdosed. After we cleared the white spot I couldn't help it and got a couple of synos along with a couple of cobalt gouramis (they looked so good i couldnt help it). Going to be more careful in future with the treatments as I would like to get another royal plec as it was a good looking fish
