I have a 55 gallon planted community aquarium. My stocking is 8 cardinal tetras, 8 cherry barbs, 8 serpae tetras, 1 blue ram, 1 pleco, 4 zebra danios, 2 corys, 2 blue gouramis,1 gold gourami, and 1 raphael catfish. Can i possibly add some rainbowfish. I particularly like boesemans rainbow fish. does anybody have any suggestions of other rainbowfish i could put in?

From my calculations thats about 208 litres so i'd say yeah. Blue rainbows (lacustris) are nice, so are madagascar and precox. Keep your eye on those gourami's though, when they get full grown they can take small fish, also serpae's can be very nippy

thanks i am planning on selling the gouramis. are african rainbows alright?

Yeah, madagascar rainbows are stunning. Good idea getting rid of the gouramis. I think your tank would look more balanced with rainbows rather than gouramis and they haven't got fins that could be a temptation for serpaes
