Can I Get A Male?

hi,

i really want a male fighter but have platies in my tank and now2 females so no way would he go in there but wat i wanna kno is that i have read and seen picz on here where people keep males in a tank on there own with no heater, light ect is this ok and if i did it wil he survive?? x

A heater is nice. The light is not nessary but you can't have live plants without it.

he would need bare min of 1.5 gallons of water with gravel plant ect
the water would need to stay a constant temp of 80 degrees
he would also need to be put in a lit room (not constant light but for atleast 10 hrs perday if not more)
but yes he would survive just remember generally the more room the better.

more like a bare minimum of 1 gallon. All of my boys are in 1- 2 1/2 gallon tanks. No heaters or lights, but my dorm room is at a constant 76 degrees and the big desk lamp is on much of the day so the temp stay realativly steady all the time. Ummm in terms of ft. for the tank size, minimum is roughly H = 12" L = 10" W = 10" those are my one gallon tanks.
