Liam, have you tried looking at the pinned topic of the guppy fry being born? might give you an idea of the size of a guppy ready to give birth

My guppy has been enormous and brick-like for over a week now and I'm still waiting for babies! Think she's teasing me

Don't have any pics of her at the mo

I just wanted to show you a picture of my pregnant guppy. She looks like she's about to burst and has done for the last fortnight, but she's got her legs crossed (so to speak).

I had one girl give birth last Thursday and she was nowhere near this size so I'm thinking it's anybody's guess when she has them. What do you think???

The last one had about 30 fry, so I'm thinking maybe 50 or 60??

Awww bless her! That is quite big again. These poor things have to go through a lot and no pethadine (sp?) or epidural!

I've had other females nowhere near as big either having fry so goodness knows how many we're going to get

Mine is about the same size as yours and came from the lfs very thin and I've now had her 26 days so anytime now

wow my pregnant guppy is exaclty like that, I crnt put a piccy on cos I dnt know how lol (newbie) she didnt giv birth last night so i toomk her out of the fry net, shes suddenly started eatin whereas she stopped 4 a couple of days!!!!!!! I DNO

Buttercup my yellow guppy did that too! she wasn't eating and now she is again. I've put Twinkle in with her now as they are both as fat as eachother so maybe they'll have a race to see who can drop fry first

lol yer! Ive got about three other prenant females but their bellies seem alot smaller yet one of em has just started to get more square! Its weird that they giv birth wen theyre not massive yet the massive ones wnt giv birth..

Oh good, I'm glad that she's not unusually big! I was getting worried for her. She's still got a mammoth apetite on her, but I suppose it's not surprising when she's probably eating for 50.

Twinkle is no longer fat!!

Went downstairs from reading the forums to find 5 little fry in the tank

So I ran round the kitchen a few times like a headless chicken looking for my net and breeding trap and in the end I got 15 of them. She's still not what I would call thin, about half the size she was, but no more babies in the last half an hour so I've left her now and any others will have to fend for themselves.

I've had to use a breeding trap in the grow-out tank as the 3 week old fry in there look enormous compared to the new guys and I'm sure they would eat them The water is flowing nicely through the trap though as the liquifry quickly dispersed when I dropped some in so they should be ok in there for a few days till they grow a bit

Look out for babies with your guppies Liam and Kitty!
