Can I add new fish

Hello all,

Well I was just wondering if I could get new fish. I had a little nitrite and ammonia spike last weekend and I'm gonna go to the LFS to get my water tested this Saturday and can I get new fish if the levels are down!?!? I just want to get a kinda gourami or something medium sized then I'll wait for quite a while to get some.... corys? I'm really anxious to get new fish sorry for all the questions on stocking rate and stuff but I'm eager!! Thanks for your help!

Hi If your ammonia and nitrite are 0 you can add fish slowly. One or 2 per week. If you have any ammonia or nitrite I'd wait. Also 2 male gourami might fight in a 20G. I had 1 powder blue and one flame in my 20G and they didn't get along. Gourami are territorial and need some space.
