Don’t put salt in a freshwater aquarium except as medication. However, as far as I know himalayan salt is sodium chloride, just like regular salt, so it should work (although I imagine it’s more expensive, why do you want to use it?)

Unless you are treating a disease or injury, no salt is needed for a freshwater tank.

But if you need it, salt is just salt. It works. But for people on my side of the planet, Himalayan salt is incredibly expensive.
