Can Fish Be Sick

As the title says "can fish be SICK".

i feed my tinfoils barbs yesterday (some crushed pellets) and i bit later on i spotted that one of the medium sized ones(4") spat some red stuff out of its mouth, couldn't think what it was so i guessed it was being sick. Is it true or not?

um.... do you mean can fish vomit? that i don't know, but were the pellets red? fish sometimes spit out food as part of the softening/chewing process, or if they don't like it.

Yes they can as i had to do a emergency water change on my goldfish tank as tweety was on his back and the water had gone orange colour, he was ok after the water change.

Of course fish can be sick. But I'm afraid I dont know whats wrong with your Barbs.

Cheers for the replies, they might of ate too much food but they are so greedy. the food i put in is normally gone within seconds, so sometimes i put a little more as i dont think they have had enough.

starrynightxxi. the pellets were a normal brown colour
