I have a 10g divided tankwhich developed an algae bloom on the 2nd day.I decided to cycle the tank and put in a small filter
Ive removed one of the 2 bettas to an unheated bowl in the meantime and have left the other one in the end farthest from the filter as I have no space elsewhere for him at the moment
Doing daily water changes etc
The one in the tank seems happy enough though the one ive removed is moping round the bottom of his 5g not eating etc--may be missing the heat?
What do you advise?
Should I leave things as they are?
An extra heater is not an option until payday!

I would leave things as they are for now, as the stress of keep changing the tempreture will make him get ill, not a fan of divided tanks can cause alot of problems.

Iknow,I made the mistake of having glass dividers which means the water flow is restricted. However as they are tropical fish I decided I should heat tanks if possible

I would stir the gravel up in the divided tank as bacteria can thrive in dorimant areas.

Will do.Am debating whether or not to remove the gravel altogether
