wondering if balas could go brackish like columbian sharks, it would be cool to have a few of each in a big long aquarium. i know some fish can turn brackish but not sure about the bala. also what about the cobalt blue "lobsters"? just curious bc im looking for a good deal on a 125+ gallon and i know for SURE im doing columbian sharks and turning brackish eventually for them. trying to see what else i could do :D

Bala sharks prefer softer water. You can't turn just any fish brackish; it has to be a species that naturally lives in esturine waters, or that spends different parts of their lives in different waters, like the columbian sharks.

They'll need full marine conditions when they're adult, I don't think they can stay brackish the whole time as they naturally start off freshwater and move further down river and out into the sea when mature.

ive put the brackish tank on hold for now. i now have a 125gal salt predator tank :good:

I was not aware that the Columbian needed Marine, when mature! i thought they were fresh when young and brackish as adults.
just goes to show. cheers :good:

Not so sure about shark cats need brackish water.. In kew gardens, they have fresh water pond full of this cats in the size of 3 to 4 feet . So healthy they almost slick as real sharks. I was moanin about breckish and They told me That they r not new fish and they keep them since they were under a footer.
