Can Anyone Shed Any Light On A Reef Lobster

Hello

i went into the LFS to buy a Emerald crab (as i accidentally killed mine)
and saw a red reef lobster which has been there for ages..
has anyone got any experiences with them..

p.s im after as much info about them but havent found much on forums...

Most lobsters are a threat to small fishes and not all are reef safe depending on the species.

Can make an interesting addition to a sump though.

If its a red/purple reef lobster is should be fine, but if the opportunity arises it will take fish. Also, once's its in your tank, the chances of seeing it on a regular basis is very slim.

Saying that, nice addition to a tank, wont grow too (large couple of inches), but would ideally need to be spot feed to prevent from taking smaller fish.

While this post is a few days old, I have one right now (Purple reef lobster) and I'm pretty sure he's picked off a few of my fish (See my other post). Especially anything newer in the tank that doesn't know any better. I am trying to rehouse him in his own smaller tank. I cannot simply "get rid of him" because it was a present from my g/f... I would stay away, but that's personally my opinion.
