thanks for looking

The images seem very dark, but I think they appear to be Synodontis Eupterus

what size tank do you have them in?

yeah i'd go with synodontis eupterus (feather-fin catfish).
they look pretty skinny so need feeding up.
females will tend to have a more rotund belly, but i don't think there is much sexual dimorphism.

how big are they?
they'll go 6 inches plus.

hi, my tank is 40 uk gallons

they are about 4 inches almost

i was actually sold these 2 cat's last week as a YOUNG black spotted upside down catfish ...

ok thank you both

yeh sorry i'm not too good with a camera ....

ive just looked at some pics of the Synodontis Eupterus but those have spikes /spiked fins (above their heads) oh mine dont seem to have this joined nor spiked they seem soft, lacey if that makes sense, not saying your wrong just adding detail

they dont look like those you said more like s. nigrita but see im no expert sob... so need to know

but they are eat well wouldnt of said skinny...

They look like S. nigrita, the false upside down catfish.

lacey if that makes sense

Makes perfect sense, they are actually commonly referred to as Lace Cats. lol
