They are really pretty and change colour all the time is this normal or could it mean they are stressed?
They go from a really pale sandy colour to almost black.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Thanks, it is really odd how they change sometimes they look just like the ones in his pics then they go dark too.

Postage was a bit of a nightmare if I'm honest don't think it was his fault but I'd ordered the two bristnoses, 5 corys and 10 cardinals well when they came they were double bagged but the inside bag on both the bn and the corys had burst, luckly the bn's were fine but the largest of the corys was dead on arrival suffocated in the bag and the others looked touch and go for a while. All of the cardinals also died before they got into the tank, whwn they arrived two were already dead in the bag and I think that must have polluted the water as when I checked the nitrated (think thats the right one always get them mixed up!)in the water in the bag they were really high.

He did refund me for the 10 cardinals and the 1 cory and all of the remaining fish from him have done really well. He does have really good feedback for his fish and postage and i think my experience was just really unfortunate.

Might have a think about them. That does sound a few to many fish to have in 1 bag IMO. I would only be having 2-4 bns so shouldnt be as bad. Did any of the pics in the link look like them?

The pic it looks most like is the Ancistrus triradiatus well some of the pics of them anyway but others don't look anything like them so it may be a long hunt! i'll keep looking the female has no bristles at all and the male's bristles aren't as pronounced as some of the ones in the pics but that could be because he's still growing i suppose?

He only looks small in the pick so hes probably still growning they will get longer and he will grown more as he gets older.

well i'll assume thats him for now then and check again when he's fully mature :)

Thanks for the help :good:

Got a couple more pics of the male

Do these help any with the ID thoughts?

couldn't find the female she's somewhere under her lump of bogwood!

Thzt pic really does look like a Ancistrus triradiatus or Ancistrus tamboensis. It might have just had the darker colour because it was stressed?

Not sure he changes colour a lot not sure if his dark colour could be stress or his light!!

I would start a new topic on the other place and post all 4 of these pics and see what they say.
