hey i have 3 tropical aquariums.....90L, 120L and 180L. will it be worth switching one to a marine tank and how easy/hard is it? also which one would be the right size for a marine tank?
Thanks

Hi,

Welcome to the forum.

Marine tanks are much more demanding than fresh water tanks and i would advise you not to take this step lightly. They are also much more expensive.

I advise you to read up on marine fishkeeping, and price a setup. I think you'll be horrified.

Don't get me wrong, marines are amazing and very rewarding, but you should definitely consider what is involved first.

The bigger the tank the better, generally, so if you do decide to go ahead, i'd use your biggest tank.

Hope that helps a bit. :good:

BTT

yeah that helps thanks :) but you're right it is expensive! not to worry i have seen what they look like and i will put all the effort into it :) thanks again :)

I have a freshwater and a marine, and I definately enjoy the marine tank better. The fish are just so different. Especially in reef tanks there is a lot more to look at.

And I would definately agree, do the largest tank you could afford.

It's only as hard as you make it. ;)
