Hi

Before I discovered this forum I'd been keeping my lonely goldfish in a 16l  tank! Luckily I discovered this forum and managed to get a 30l set up for him - I know it's not enough but it's better than a 16l. Anyhoo, I've been asking around and 2 people have Goldfish ponds I can put it it :). Unfortunately one has a resident heron, but the other is willing to take it, but is worried that the fish may die after being switched from indoor to outdoor - is this a possibility? Or doesn't it make a difference? Were in the same area, so the water's the same.

Thanks, Jonty.

No problem.... I breed all my goldfish inside..... rear them to maturity, & then move them outside.... No problem......

Well done for finding new homes for the little fella :good:

I think it's a good time of year to do it now - weather's getting better and all that. Like said above just acclimatise him and you should be fine :)

Put him in the pond today - all was fine :)

The owners had had koi, but recently got back into goldfish so had 12 in there, all about a year old, around 2-3 inches long - mines 5 inches, so must be the 'alpha fish'. Lucky, as my Nana was imagining 20 inch goldfish with my 5 inch one
