I was wondering if I could mix a red tailed shark with clown loaches and angel fish in a 55 gallon tank, there are currently 2 angel fish (breeding pair) 2 clown loaches and some other fish I would trade in if I got one. I have read that they might be aggressive and I don't want my wonderful little clown loaches hurt or anything! Oh, and if I could mix a red tailed shark in with them does anyone have other stocking options/other fish that would do well in the tank? Thank you for the advice!

Hi there, they do get territorial, and sometimes the aggression emerges early, some times when they are of a decent size.

I would not add them with a breeding pair of angels, thats courting disaster (stress and aggression for both parties).

Also, with the red tail and similar body shape (and limited numbers) the clowns may soon also become targets of territorial aggression.

In short, the only time I 'really' see red sharks working, is in a large, well planted tank, with planty of visiual diveders and mainly dither fish that he's not too bothered by.
