Can A Pleco Eat This?

Well i guess no. Maybe the fish is sick or something, he might have the sickness. One a fish dies my pleco use to eat it. Yhen after 1 week i lost the pleco.

thankx, I was wondering becuase right now my pleco is eating b dead angel. Guess I beter take it out.

Under any circumstance, no. Even if he didn't die of disease a rotting body is harmful.

My pleco has a way of always finding the deceased before I get to them. I do take them away just because I dont want anything decaying in my aquarium, but I do agree in nature that is what bottom feeders live on, not to mention the pellet foods are mainly ground up dead fish.

I agree i dont find dead fish coz my pleco eats them first and so be it its nature. I quite like it, he is the most dominant cish in the tank!! lol

Definetely nature in the wild, but in aquariums dead fish are most likely to die from a disease.Dicaying fish create harmful ammonia anyway :shout:

Dead fish in the tank may also die from stress, not just disease. But the ammonia/rotting fish corpse not good argument still holds true.

If a fish dies, is it okay to let your pleco eat it?

My LFS says that what they are accually doing as they are vegies is eating the slimy coating off the body I asked him as my gibby was attached to a fish I lost the other week but the real masters of waste disposal are clown loaches man they are quick.
