I have read in this forum that livebearers have babies every month i have had my platies for about two months and have had only one batch of fry and that was because the female platy was pregnant when i bought her and she had the babies the day i got her. Any way i have three female platies and one male. None of the females have gave birth except for the one that was pregnant when i bought her. Is it posible that my male platy is sterile. Or do i need more males? Any input is apreciated :S

ARE YOU DEFINATELY SURE YOU HAVE 1 MALE AND 3 FEMALES AND NOT ALL FEMALES. does your male chased any of your females around.

It could be that the female u bought was on its last pregnacy when you bought her.

I have been trying to breed all types of livebearers will not luck. I'm sure that the males ere males and the females were females. I had 5 females and one male. Nothing. I've been trying to breed many different fish without any luck. I got 2 convicts a little over a week ago and they aren't even making a nest. I'm sure the female is a females because she was making a nest in thestore tank before I got her. So it answer your question, YES, I believe you.
