hi
my head is spinning with all the recommendations for fish meds
has anyone here in the uk got some good recommendations for fish treatments for 1.fungus(cotton wool stuff)
2.dropsy (severley swollen abdomens)
3. internal bacteria (fish swimming a bit wonky - not upside down just a bit off centre if that makes sense)

we have different fish with these symptoms & would just like some tried & tested recommendations for treatments that we can get easily in the uk.

our tank has been up & running for nearly a year, we check params at least every week only unusual thing for ages was a hint of nitrite0.1 which i did small water change for - its now 0
(routinely do 25% change weekly anyway).i keep reading on forums/posts that if you get disease its usually a water quality issue- our water quality has been fine for ages, were not grossly overstocked, all our fish get on fine - no one is harrassed or chased (we do watch closely). so why lately do we keep getting fish with fungus, wonky swimmers (that sometimes we have cured with interpet internal bacteria med,) & right now 3 neons with what looks like dropsy.(grossly swollen bellies)
what are we doing wrong???? we did have a major trauma a few weeks ago - tank sprung a waterfall, all fish in hosp tank for 4 hrs whilst we stemmed the tide & bought a new tank....could it be this trauma/stress that is causing these disease outbreaks???? up until a few weeks ago we'd only really encountered the odd case of fungus which was treated with melafix & at initial tank setup we had a barb with finrot which was treated (successfully with interpet again)

does anyone have any advice, suggestions, tried & tested uk available meds???
any help most appreciated

add 1 tbls of salt for each litre of aquarium water and raise the temp to 27 degrees C. ask your local dealer for help on the rest.

good luck mate

thanks for reply
but i though salt was a big no no with corys & loaches, we have 2 peppered corys & 2 yoyos & to further complicate things 5 shrimps too.

Fisgh not swimming straight could be swim bladder problems
